Filming in Pataua

We’ve shot a few jobs in Pataua on the East coast of Northland, NZ. Pataua is a stunning location with a lot to offer, both for tourists and cinematographers alike. Pataua is broken up in to two areas, Pataua North and Pataua South, which are joined by an old footbridge that crosses the Pataua Estuary. 

Location highlights:
  • Long Sandy beaches
  • Unique coastal landscape
  • Large estuary with footbridge

This unique stretch of coastline has beautiful sandy beaches which are great for surfing and beach walks, and at the mouth of the estuary there is conical shaped hill that was once the site of a Maori Pa.
